My name is Bryan Dewhurst, and I believe we are truly living in the greatest age to create wealth and help others pursue full-time families and time freedom. After 5 years of owning my own business, going through a divorce, and working with hundreds of families, I know that time is the one thing you cannot buy back.

Working alongside clients that desire to have full time freedom instead of full-time jobs is what I enjoy most. I like the challenge of thinking differently to organize your resources in a way that supports your true goals and purpose. I am grateful to do this work every day with my best friend and business partner, Phillip Ramsey. By educating, coaching and serving families, we’re able to help our clients’ money to truly start working for them as opposed to a financial institution.

My time in this business actually began when I was 6 years old. My mother, who has been in this business for 40 years, would often take me to work and I was able to spend time with lots of advisors at an early age. I remember my mom paying me a penny for every envelope I would help stuff! She gave me stock books to read and I would memorize the symbols and prices.

Later in life as an adult, I spent some time working for Deloitte & Touche as an Enterprise Risk Consultant. Our clients included big name companies like Berkshire Hathaway, Union Pacific, GEICO, and MidAmerican Energy. It was then I started to see the power of cash-flow and purchasing assets that produce cash-flow. During that same time, I also witnessed traditional financial advice and the limitations of having all of your money in the stock market as I watched 3 major down turns in one decade. I remember thinking “there must be another way” and I set out to find it. Given my love for numbers and building relationships with people, I decided to become a financial advisor, and I truly believe I have one of the best jobs out there!

I am blessed with three beautiful children, wonderful family and friends, and my health. Outside of the office, I spend my time playing tennis, building custom furniture, reading, consulting with entrepreneurs and traveling. I also have fun going toe to toe with Phillip in various competitions as we so often do!

We would love to listen to you and hear what your goals are for both you and your family. Our desire is to serve you and accelerate the realization of those goals through proven financial concepts. We strive to keep clients for life through exceptional care and expertise, and it’s how we approach our relationships with prospective clients. Let us know how we can help you and we look forward to meeting with you!

My name is Phillip Ramsey and I love my life! I know that sounds corny, but it’s true. I am married to the woman of my dreams, I have three amazing children, I have awesome friends, and I get excited every day to go to work. I am truly blessed! I currently live in Ankeny and I’m proud to say I am an Iowan.

I started in the financial services industry ironically because of my own negative experience. I never felt fully in control of my own money or decisions. I determined there had to be a better way, and began investigating a career in financial services. I started with Principal Financial Group and learned a lot about how finances worked, but I quickly saw that the goals my clients had (and the goals I had for my clients) were different from the company goals. After this realization, I began asking myself why this industry was set up this way. I started to put focus on the clients’ perspective, the way I wish someone would have done for me before I was in the industry. I left Principal and became an independent financial advisor. It was then I began to help clients create a plan that they felt they were in control of.

Being an advisor, one of my favorite questions to ask people is “What is your best asset?” There are lots of answers I’ve been given, but I believe the answer is YOU! Your ability to generate and create wealth is far more powerful than anything you can invest your money in. Have you ever heard an advisor say “Set it and forget it” when talking about your money? This can be one of the worst things for an advisor to say to their clients. You should not be taught or coached to forget about your money! Another problem I have with that mindset is that it doesn’t put you in control of your own money. I love working with my clients and showing them what it means to have an account integrated with their goals!

Why is it that some advisors will start by asking about your monetary assets, instead of asking questions about what you want your life to be like, or what your goals are? I don’t feel like I need to hear anything about your money to start forming a plan that works for you. Money is a means to an end- don’t focus on it. Focus on what you are passionate about, and make your money conform to your plan, not the other way around. After you figure out what you want your life to be like, you can use your money to achieve your goals.

It would be an honor to sit down with you and create a customized plan, where you feel in control, and so you can see the real power you have when working with a true advocate. We have a very simple process we take people through to see if we are a good fit. If we are, we’ll educate you on your options and let you decide what is right for your financial plan. We know you have so much potential and we would love to be the co-pilot in your financial life!
